BLACK KNIGHTS have served our country well, in peacetime and in war, with loyalty and courage, since 1855. I am a BLACK KNIGHT...the best of the Black Jack Brigade...a proud soldier in the First Cavalry Division, America's First Team!
Loyalty is one of our cornerstone values. We bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. constitution, the Army, our unit and our soldiers.
Accepting the awesome task of fighting and winning our nation's wars, we will be ready when we are called. I follow in the sacred footsteps of great soldiers that helped to shape the proud reputation of the BLACK KNIGHTS in the past, but on my shoulders rests the reputation of the BLACK KNIGHTS of the present.
Courage: Energetically will we fight with intrepidity. Our intestinal fortitude shall guide our actions both physically and morally. As our battalion standard advertises, so shall we in word and deed.
Knowing that our nation depends on us, we serve selflessly, putting the welfare of our country, the Army, and our subordinates before our own.
Keeping the peace or fighting wars, the BLACK KNIGHTS embody the spirit of duty, honor and country.
Never will we forget the personal courage of those who have gone before us; from the Civil War to the Western plains; from the Pacific to Korea; and from Vietnam to the Persian Gulf, we are prepared to face fear, danger and adversity.
Integrity is non-negotiable. We will do what's right, legally and morally. Excellence is our standard. Mediocrity is unacceptable. I will not settle for less than the best from others or myself because I am a BLACK KNIGHT.
Great units are made of great soldiers and their families and we owe them our respect. We treat people as they should be treated and we take soldiers and grow them into leaders for the next generation of our Army.
Honoring our calling by living up to all of the Army values, we are ready to safeguard our nation's interests.
The BLACK KNIGHTS are responsive and dominant. We are deployable, agile, versatile and lethal. Put me on point and I will guide the way. Give me the road less traveled and I will pave the way for others. Give me the impossible mission and I will demonstrate unlimited possibilities.
Strong leadership and quality soldiers, we will remain an elite unit in the most respected Army in the world and the most feared ground force to those who would threaten the interests of the United States.
